As I've said before, it's pretty awesome to get to work with the same clients again and again. Some have been longtime friends, like this family. Others have become like old friends to me as I've watched their family grow. I'm so lucky that I get to work with the best people time and time again
!This weekend was extra special because I had many of my favorite clients work with me to raise support and awareness for victims of human trafficking, in an event called "Photos for Good." 100% of the proceeds from this day of mini sessions went towards an organization called Redeemed Ministries, that is providing much-needed support for victims of human trafficking right here in Austin.
The most important thing we can do to stop human trafficking in our city is to be aware of what it is and how to recognize when a person is being trafficked against their will. If you've come across this page, please check out this site about how to spot victims of trafficking. Let's be AWARE of those around us... our neighbors, our restaurant servers, our janitors, our children's friends... May we open our eyes and hearts to really SEE those around us and let us not be afraid to ask questions when something doesn't seem right.
And here are a few photos from my "Photos for Good" session with the Keeters. These parents both have jobs that involve loving and caring for the children in their community. I am always amazed when I think about the good (and hard) work they are doing, and the difference they are making in so many young lives. It's an honor to call them friends, and always a pleasure to get to do their family photos. :)
